Transport workers in different districts are continuing their bus strike for the second consecutive day on Tuesday protesting the implementation of new Road Transport Act.
The strike began on Monday in different districts, including Khulna, Narail, Naogaon, Barishal, without any prior announcement, creating immense sufferings to the passengers.
In Khulna, no buses left the district this morning. Mini pickup, human hauler, locally known as Mahendra, microbus took the passengers to their destination with higher fare, according to our district correspondent.
In Narail, protesting workers stopped plying buses on five routes, including Narail-Jashore and Narail-Lohagora.
The much talked-about Act came into effect from November 1.
The Road Transport and Bridges Ministry had announced the decision through a notification on October 22.by
