KARACHI: (Web Desk) – All four militants that attacked the Pakistan Stock Exchange building in Karachi on Monday have been killed.
According to details, at least eight people including one sub-inspector and three security guards have been martyred and several wounded after armed men stormed Pakistan Stock Exchange building in Sindh’s metropolitan city today.
As per reports, the militants arrived in a car, launched a grenade attack at the main gate of PSX and stormed the building after firing indiscriminately.
Law enforcement agencies have gunned down all four militants in cross fire exchange. Security forces have also evacuated the people from inside the building.
Police and rangers have cordoned off the area and surrounding areas have also been sealed.
The injured have been shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
A spokesperson of Pakistan Rangers Sindh said that the situation at Pakistan Stock Exchange is under control, while search and clearance operation is underway.
As per Additional IG CTD, one of the dead terrorists has been identified and he belonged to Balochistan.
“There is a possibility of RAW’s involvement in the attack,” he added.
Sindh’s Governor condemns the incident:
Sindh province Governor Imran Ismail has condemned the incident and has vowed to protect province at all costs.
“Strongly condemn the attack on PSX aimed at tarnishing our relentless war on terror. Have instructed the IG & security agencies to ensure that the perpetrators are caught alive & their handlers are accorded exemplary punishments. We shall protect Sindh at all costs,” he said on Twitter.
On the other hand, while talking exclusively to GNN, Imran Ismail said that he suspects the attack to be an international conspiracy.
“It is too early to say anything definitive, but India’s intelligence agency RAW is suspected to behind this attack,” he said,
Sindh’s CM reacts on PSX terror attack:
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has also strongly condemned the terror attack, saying that the attack was akin to an attack on national security and economy.
He further lauded the prompt action by security forces and directed all law enforcement agencies to be more vigilant and careful.
